It's no surprise (or at least it shouldn't be) that I am head over heels in love with Fall weather, and it's been evident since the day I moved home from Finland. Now, you'll have to understand, that Finland really only gets about 2 good months of summer, so with the occasion of the odd warm day, I was pretty much wearing a wool coat and scarf up until the day I left, which was June 2nd. At this point, it seems as though Vancouver had experienced a couple months of good summer weather, but I was in serious denial the day I landed at YVR.
I've always been into the Fall weather. There is honestly nothing I love more than a crisp, cloudy day where layers are necessary- plus Fall fashion is SO much better than any other season! I mean, who doesn't love to cuddle up in some cashmere!? A good sweater, wool coat, and solid pair of denim are Fall staples to me, and quite frankly, you can even spot me in a turtle neck even in the summer. So I will take any cloudy day opportunity I can get to pull out all of the Fall stops.

The sun decided to make a brief appearance today- but long enough for me to break out the sunnies for this post.
My personal style has changed quite a bit since living in Finland, and travelling Europe. I felt especially inspired in the Scandinavian countries because they just have a certain 'cool' to their style, and it is just very unique. I'm trying to channel my inner Scandinavian when picking a good Fall/Winter outfit.

I went for a very casual, all neutral look for this faux fall day. First off, there is nothing Scandinavian's love more than a good trouser, and I am starting to appreciate this. Yes people, there is more to life than denim. You can't go wrong with a trouser either. It could be that wow factor to your outfit by just pairing contrasting items. A trouser is generally a little more 'dressy' so I paired cream turtle neck sweater with my black trousers for some visual contrast. For that extra layer of warmth, and well, just to layer because I'm totally into that (and I have an enormous love for coats), I wore a black, grey and white textured cocoon coat. For some pattern, I went to my trustee snakeskin sneakers, because they pretty much go with everything, and a cream, black, and camel striped scarf draped around my neck, and tucked under the coat lapels.
