Short of changing my hair colour to blonde to be like those friggen fabulous Scandinavian people, I went for the next best thing: attempting to adopt their ways of dressing. It's sort of mysterious, in the land of those Scandinavian countries filled with beautiful people. They all have style... like really, really good style. No matter what they wear or how they wear it, it just. looks. so. good. And I don't know how they do it.
From my experience living abroad and travelling to the Scandinavian countries, they all have a slightly different street style aesthetic. Less is often more- they mix heavy fabrics with light fabrics, rough textures with soft textures, and neutral colour scheme with a good sneaker. I think that is the key when trying to dress like a Scandinavian. They have a very casual vibe to the way they dress, but pair one statement piece, like a crisp trouser, silk blouse, or statement coat, with basics and it seems to make the outfit effortlessly go from casual to couture. Like I said, I don't know how they do it, but they just do.

Everybody loves a good ripped jean these days.
I paired a charcoal grey pair of high waisted ripped skinny jeans with a black, medium weight ribbed knit turtle neck sweater. For some contrast I layered a high low crepe tank top underneath to break up the dark colours. For an extra layer, and a bit of extra visual appeal, I added a light grey, cozy cashmere sweater to the mix by draping it over my shoulders. This is a very popular style in Europe and is becoming an interesting way to accessorize throughout the fashion scene. To amp it up, instead of just draping it over your shoulders, you can sort of make it into a scarf/shawl by turning it to the side a little, and wrapping the sleeves (depending on their length) and tying it loosely around your neck. To add some pattern to this otherwise solid outfit, I wore snakeskin print sneakers, which are not only quite trendy, but also uber comfortable.
The Look:
Grey Cashmere Sweater [Ginger]
Black Ribbed Sweater [Lord & Taylor]
White Crepe Tank [Primark]
Grey Ripped Denim [H&M]
Snakeskin Skeakers [H&M]
