Teak terrace furniture ft. sheepskin throws, and green tea with ginger.
Survived this week at school and have decided to take the weekend off to recuperate...which means catching up on some posts and doing a lot of tea drinking and terrace sitting. Weather permitting of course.
Wednesday's are my favourite. I start my day with an 8:30am class which is usually hard to wake up for. But on the bright side, I get to leave uni by 11:30- so Wednesday's are great. I get to come home nice and early, if I don't decide to stop in the city for some "window shopping".

A rare moment of the dog caught starring lovingly into my eyes. We have a special bond now. And it warms my heart.
I have realized more than ever just how important it is to take time to enjoy the little things and let your body rest from the pressures of school. This year is especially intense, however, I find myself to be more calm during this semester than I ever have. In Finland I learned how to balance my school life and social life, and am trying to do the same this year.
I have been working like a machine the last few years- putting family functions aside, and my social life and wellbeing on the back burner all to pour my heart and soul into my education. A little rest every now and then is so refreshing, and makes me feel relaxed when I get stressed out with deadlines. On this beautiful Wednesday, there was nothing better than an early start to the day, attending class, and coming home to sit on the terrace with a cuppa, my dog, my mamma, and the shining sun.

Now that it is Fall and the weather is crisp and the sun is (usually) shining, my go to pieces usually consist of some type of oversized top. Lately, actually since Europe, I have been obsessed with button ups. I think they are so casual, yet sophisticated. There is an effortless chic vibe to them. I usually pair a boyfriend style shirt with jeans and either ankle booties or sneakers, and ALWAYS a bralette. This has also been a new favourite that I embraced since living in Europe. There is something about pairing a bralette with a button up that is very dainty and still very modest.
I love looser fitting tops because they just feel very effortless and make me feel cozy. And when you're up as early as I am on a daily basis, there is nothing more important than feeling comfortable and cozy in your clothing. I paired a light blue, cotton, boyfriend fit button up shirt with black skinny jeans and snakeskin sneakers. It was an incredibly simple look, but still looked put together. I didn't play with any layers, and just left it very plain and casual. To accessorize, I wore a black leather watch, mismatched earrings, and a few dainty rings, a small gold bracelet, and black and silver sunnies. Very minimal. I also kept a few more buttons undone on the shirt for a more feminine look.
