One of my best purchases thus far.
The Bay is like the Costco of Department stores. You are just walking through, minding your own business, and the next thing you know you're walking out of a fitting room and making your way to the till. Anyone else find that to be extremely accurate...?
Since my Finland days, I have been on the lookout for a light beige trench style coat of some kind. I had looked in thrift shops, my mother's closet, and fast fashion retailers, and nothing seemed to do it for me... apparently I was looking for something very specific... and I didn't quite know what that was, until I saw this beauty... and it has quickly become a wardrobe staple.

This is the trench of my dreams. I had been searching for it endlessly, and everything I had seen prior to it just didn't make my heart race. But good things come to those who wait, right? Right. I waited long enough for Mr. Trench to come around, and now that he did, I couldn't be more thrilled. And the best part- it goes with everything, and is such an easy piece to style and is very versatile. It's a light enough piece to throw on over a heavy sweater in the Fall months, and also very appropriate for spring and summer. It's just great, can't you tell.
Not to mention the Scandinavian feel to this coat....
What I found so unique about this specific coat, was its texture. The coat is a linen blend, which makes it "not your typical trench". The material is what makes it so versatile- it is casual enough to be styled down, but also has a very sophisticated and classic feel to it, which can make any outfit quite posh.

I'm all about trying different styles lately and grabbing a large chunk of inspiration from the Scandinavians as I have mentioned before. For a Summer to Fall transition- this was a very suitable weather for the time of year and typical indecisive Vancouver weather.. you just sometimes never know what you are going to get... like a box of chocolates.
I kept this look very simple and clean and minimalist. I wore the linen trench as a statement and kept everything else very simple playing off of a similar colour palette. I paired a black skinny jean with a black low v tank top. To balance out the heavy beige on the upper part of my body, I slipped on my white and grey printed sneakers. The print balances out the trench, and compliments the colours- as well as ads some visual appeal to an otherwise plain outfit. Accessories were kept very minimal- small rings, earrings, bracelet, watch, and a long metallic grey necklace layered underneath my tank top.
