The only two things that have been on my mind lately.
Also, The Weather Network lied. Or maybe I'm still looking at the weather in Helsinki... which is very possible too. Slightly in denial about not living there anymore.
And I'm still trying to be Scandinavian as you can tell from this outfit.
While living in Europe, I developed a serious appreciation for a good sneaker. Alright, I'm going to admit... and I even posted in on Instagram about three years ago that I hated the 'sneaker' trend. I wanted it to go away pretty much for ever. But I am a changed woman. The sneaker is alive and well, and thriving like nothing I've ever seen before.
There is a lot to be said for practical fashion. And who said sneakers can't be trendy (other than my 18 year old self...) They have become so chic, and obviously those Europeans and Scandinavians can rock a sneaker with just about anything. When I had up and moved to Helsinki, I only brought one pair of sneakers... and by the end, I had wished I brought, or bought more! They just seemed so practical! Why wouldn't you want to walk for hours comfortably!? Am I right ladies.
One I had gotten back home, I busted out the sneakers, and added a few more pairs to my already grossly massive shoe collection. A sneaker just goes with everything.

I must say, this is probably one of my favourite outfits to be featured on The Short List, thus far. It was so cozy, and kept me extra warm in this heat that decided to come out of nowhere today....
I clearly can't go a day without wearing a turtle neck, and luckily I have a whole archive in my closet to choose from. I have just accumulated so many over the last year and a bit that I don't even know what to do with them all! I got this chunky long sweater right before I moved, considering I knew there would be a significant temperature drop and this would surely keep me nice and toasty. And it sure did. So here's my tip for you, If you ever go to Helsinki between the months of October-May... maybe even June... have a good, warm sweater in your bag. For a very simple look, I paired this charcoal grey sweater with a simple pair of black skinny jeans, white cons, and a wool camel coloured draped jacket-cape like situation which I had actually made a few years back. I went for simple crystal earrings, a black leather watch, my LBB (little black bag), and a low bun for an incredibly low maintenance, effortless, look.
